Stop hiding what you’re earning.
99% of people that I speak to, hide their bank balance from their kids.
They don’t want their kids to know what they’re earning and spending - like it’s a big family secret 🙄
Here’s why it’s a problem:
If money is always seen as a secret, this behaviour will be passed on to the next generation.
Secrecy breeds shame, and shame breeds poor self-esteem.
And I don’t know about you, but I’m yet to meet a high-achiever with poor self-esteem.
Regardless of what you earn, don’t make money a secret and instead talk to your kids about it.
They should know:
How much you make
What expenses you have
How you invest your money
And how you save for bigger purchases
The more they know = the more empowered they will be when they start managing their own pocket money.
What’s your opinion?
Keep it a secret or not?
